Our relationship started in 2019 during an outreach to Malawi. We established connections with pastor Charles Failosi of Ngabu close to Blantyre in Malawi. Life in isolated, rural areas, such as Ngabu (where 85% of the population stay) is quite difficult – access to clean water and sanitation are seldom available and schools and other educational institutions are limited. In Ngabu most families make a living by planting their own crops.
We started an innovative giving project grounded in the principle of “giving is receiving.” Through this initiative, we provided essential support to orphans in need, ensuring they have access to basic necessities and along with that, faith and hope in the future.
By 2012, pastor Charles had succeeded in starting his own church, and a private pre-school for children up to grade 4.
In their church and pre-school they have around 22 orphans who are raised by family members. They have a huge need for lunch and dinner for these little ones. Pastor Charles has a good heart and he loves sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It will be a dream come-true if we could support this orphanage with the necessary food and clothes!
With the start of the Casting Nets programme, we had enough sponsors to support 15 orphans with two meals per day. Since 2025 we have lost a few sponsors, and the cost of this project is too much to support without the contributions of the sponsors. Due to the stringent compliance requirements of the NPO Act relating to foreign donations, and after much consideration, the management team have made the decision to discontinue this project.
